Training programme on DAMS for RRTC

 A one Day Training programme was organised by NISD on Drug Abuse Monitoring System (DAMS) for RRTC functionaries on 8th September, 2016 at ISTM, Old JNU Campus, New Delhi. Twenty participants from all RRTCs participated in the said workshop. The theoretical session was held in the forenoon which was conducted by Dr Ravindra Rao, NDDTC, AIIMS and Ravish Ahmad, Consultant, NISD. It highlighted the importance of DAMS and the operational aspects of DAMS with the need for feeding the correct demographic and other treatment details of the patients approaching IRCAs (De-addiction centres supported by the Ministry). The participants were also given hand on training on the computers for working on DAMS in the afternoon session. During the training programme, few suggestions were given by the participants. Overall, the participants found the workshop useful and DAMS application was found to be user friendly. Director, NISD, during the closing session, emphasised RRTCs to follow up with IRCAs and educate them to feed the clients data who are approaching their treatment centres for the first time.
