A series of 3 –Day Consultations with NGOs on issues
relating to Geriatric Care are being organised at New Delhi from 10th
to 12th March 2005 for Southern region; from 14th to 16th March 2005 for
Eastern Region and from 30th March to 1st April 2005 for Northern/North-Eastern
Region with focussed attention on the following :
- To deliberate upon different approaches to the care
of elderly;
- To discuss and chart out the strategies for effective
implementation of schemes and programmes for the Older Persons;
- To identify training needs in the field of Care for
Older Persons;
- To strengthen the network of Govt., NGOs, Civil Society
and other stakeholders on the care for Older Persons;
- To identify the areas/subjects of research relating
to the needs of the elderly that would facilitate pragmatic policy,
planning and programme implementation.
